Wireframes & Sitemap

Mobile low-fi wireframes for Life Force Chiropractic created in Figma.
Mobile Low-fi prototype for Life Force Chiropractic.

I created mobile low-fi wireframes for Life Force Chiropractic first. I wanted to ensure that the user experience on a mobile device was top priority because the client’s previous website was not optimized for mobile.

After creating the low-fidelity prototypes, I began adding color and images. I then started to translate the designs from the high-fidelity prototype over to the new website.

This is a sitemap I created for Life Force Chiropractic by analyzing their current website and keeping the integrity of their site structure while also removing unnecessary/outdated pages.

Old vs New Website

Old Website Homepage

The old website homepage definitely wasn’t bad, but I found that they didn’t have a real CTA for scheduling an appointment, which is their main service offering. They also lacked information in the footer area and none of the links were clickable, so users couldn’t click to call/email/fax or map themselves to the location.

New Website Homepage

This is the new homepage that I created. As you can see, there’s a much greater focus on the “Book an Appointment” CTA as it’s front and center as soon as people land on the page. I also added iconography with text accompanying it so that it can be read by screen readers and so users can have a visual representation as well as a textual representation of what Life Force Chiropractic will treat. This also plays to my Visual Design focus because I like finding ways to add aesthetically pleasing designs and images to my creations.

Takeaways

This was my first contract client for my personal business and I'm very happy with how the final design turned out. We met with the client numerous times to go over the designs and receive feedback before building the actual website. I took their feedback and iterated on my prototypes until they were happy with the final design, and they've already received numerous compliments from their clients on the look of their new website! I plan to use this project as a base point for all my future contract work and hope to continue to improve my skills and gain more experience working with real clients.
